He created the firm’s Sales & Trading Curriculum and currently works at a fund that collectively manages over $60 billion in real estate assets. Rob worked at JPMorgan in the fixed income department over the two years ago after completing the bank’s Sales and Trading Training Program. Rob’s emphasis was in the securitized products area working with Collateralized Debt Obligations and Student Loan Backed Securities.
Rob also worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland in a risk and pricing role for the Cross Markets Trading Desk and in an ABS Analytics role at Bear Stearns Merchant Banking. Rob graduated with distinction from Boston University and founded the Boston University Private Equity Club in the beginning of his junior year at the Boston University School of Management.
Jared has over eighteen years of experience working in investment banking and is now retired. He his early years at Bankers Trust as an analyst and quickly rose up the ranks to become a senior associate at the firm before it merger with Alex, Brown & Sons and was taken over by Deutsche Bank in 2008. Jared began his career in Mergers & Acquisition and spent the last decade of his career in a Financial Sponsors role, providing private equity firms with idea generation, capital raising, and strategic advisory services.
Over the past two decades, Jared has worked closely with investment bankers, private equity professionals, and management teams. He has worked on multi-billion dollar deals and has been responsible for writing Leverage Academy case studies.
Jared was also a teaching assistant at Thunderbird Business School, runs a personal money management firm, and is a minority investor in Leverage Academy, LLC.
Thomas Rendon has over seven years of experience in private equity, business development, and financial writing. He graduated from UCLA in 2001 and started working a search fund based in Stanford University buying out technology and business service companies with enterprise values between $50 and $200 million. After completing a successful exit in 2004, as the economy recovered, Thomas found a new role in Investor Relations and Business Development for Morgan Stanley. Thomas then recently left to join a Fund of Funds firm in Boston. He works part-time for Leverage Academy.
Thomas manages the marketing efforts of L.A. and also works on private equity and venture capital course material.
Thomas brings enthusiasm and drive to any environment. He taught the first L.A. class in New Hampshire.
Shulin has six years of sell side and buy side experience in New York & Chicago, including experience at AIG, Met Life, Goldman, and William Blair. Shulin has a breadth of modeling and credit experience that she is eager to share with others, as her long term goal is to attain her PhD and become a Professor of Finance or Applied Economics in the greater Boston area. Shulin completed her MBA at the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business.
Over the past six years, Shulin has traveled across four continents for various engagements in the tech sector. Her passion for finance started in Hong Kong, where her father was an angel investor and later a venture capitalist and real estate manager.
At AIG, Shulin worked as a junior analyst covering structured product investments in agency MBS and other investment grade products. Shortly thereafter, she joined Met Life as an investment analyst covering various products. After pursuing her MBA, Shulin joined William Blair as a generalist and transitioned to Goldman as a Vice President. Now seeking to help others achieve their career goals, Shulin is a prized asset to the team.
